Back firing

Ford 300 6 new carb kit and timing adjusted and still back fires and dies and let it idle and dies what could be the problem

My guess is that you will need to "retard" the timing, but go ahead and try turning it both ways. If this doesn't help, then you may need to remove the timing cover and inspect the timing chain.and are the adjustment on the carb right , just testing to see, if all has been checked, the jets may be stopped up

A common cause of dying at idle is vacuum lines leaking air ino the manifold - check the small vacuum tubes and servo hose for leaks.
