You lose alot of things if you have to file bankruptcy. With the new laws, it is harder to and now takes longer to actually file for bankruptcy.

Actually, there is a program that is called "722 Redemption" this program will allow you to refinance or purchase another car based on the market value of the one you currently own. Look into it. It is a great program for those who want to keep their cars but can't afford to get caught up with the payments.
