Can city place "speed bumps" on a residential street?

Recently, we received a letter in Parma Hts. informing us that the city wishes to place "speed bumps" on two residential streets to slow speeders. As a resident of this immediate neighborhood, it seems ridiculous that everyone has to endure such a nuisance day in and day out to control a few. Is this legal? I know it's illegal to use stop signs to control speed unless the stop sign provents accidents on busy residential streets.

Yes this is legal matter of fact this was brought before conc. and it passed. and they can pass any thing they want to.they own the streets. and maintain them also. and use your tax dollars. if you had been in the meeting then you could have voiced your thoughts on this. call city hall . and see if you can still do this or has it already passd. with votes and notice

I think we need some on my street! There are too many kids around here and yet people still fly up and down my street. Sometimes I want to sit on my front deck and throw rocks at speeders.... lol
How do I get them to put speed bumps IN!

Generally with the letter of intent from the city they give an option for you to express an opinion about this either by letter or at a town meeting where it will be placed on the agenda and talk to neighbors for supporting opinions there is the possibility your community requested this be done for traffic control to be realistic the city generally only does this after people have been killed
