Can my employer deny me the right to return back to work based on my handicap?

I was in a serious car accident in which my left arm was broken in several places. I can no longer use my left hand or arm. I work in sales and my job require me to meet quotas everyday. My employer will not let me return back to work, because I'm only able to use my right hand. My question is can they deny me the right to return back to work, or are they responsible for finding me a job in which my one hand and arm can perform?

They might offer you lite duty , and get you a job , in the company were you can work till you heal up , or they might just fire you , they dont have to rehire you , if you cant do the job, unless you get hurt on the job, they didnt do any thing wrong, if they didnt cause the arm break, so they dont have to do any thing, for you,

This is illegal - yes! You are protected and if you become disabled whether temporarily or permanently they cannot fire you - HUGE no no! They must allow you to come back to work. They can give you a different position temporarily or "Light duty" or make adjustments to your job to accommodate your disability but you can actually sue them if they do not allow you to come back to work in some fashion.

It is against the American's With Disability Act. You should definatly call the EEOC office to see what your right are for your specific situation:
