Can you be terminated from a job even though you signed contract

My grandson was terminated from his position because when he
was hired he signed a contract stating he was required to have
a clean driving record for 3 years-(no motor vehicles or accidents) He received a speedy ticket about 1 year ago when
he was not working for his latest employer. In the winter of
2007, he skidded on ice and hit a snow bank. His truck was
leased and he was required to have damages repaired. About
a month ago, he had an accident in the parking lot of his
employer. Other driver admitted he was partly at fault. He
was not given any notice of his termination. He fouund out
when he called HM resources about not receiving his chec.

My grandson only found out about his termination when he called Human Resources to inquire why
he did not receive his direct deposit to his bank account. He was informed that he was terminated
and they sent his check to a "local bank". He wrote a letter to the company regarding the above.
They called him and said "it ws a lack of communications" and then they said he was going
to be informed when he reported to work . He was never given a chance to "state his case". He understands that he did sign contract regarding clean driving record. Why should they hold it
against him regarding auto accidents

He broke the contract. Even accidents that are not at fault ar still considered a 'dirty' record.
If you are in disagreement with them contact a lawyer for a free consultation.
Good luck.
