Can you return a used car to dealer that sold with...

My husband purchased a used car from a dealer in Dayton, Ohio. He got 30 day tags. Went to get regular tags and found that the dealer did not have the title and is trying to get it from original owner. My husband got a second set of 30 day tags, then a third. He is now sporting dealer tags and was reimbursed the $ for the 30 day tags. We feel 4 months in enough time to wait, and want to return the vehicle. It is our understanding the dealer was suppose to supply the title or title memorandum within 30 days. We are faithfully paying on this vehicle we cannot register, and may not be able to ever register or sell. We want to cut our loses now. Is this possible and how do we do it?

The Dealer must produce the title or unwind the deal. If your trade-in is already sold then the dealer must give you the cash that was allowed for the vehicle----otherwise, it is time to go to court. The Dealer is not supposed to sell a vehicle for which it doesn't possess a title that can be processed. Good luck, and stick to you guns.

We did and no longer have the vehicle. THANK YOU! Not many people seemed to know this! For anyone else this happens to! You will have to "Stick to your Guns"!
