2007 Saturn Ion exhaust smell

I just purchased a 2007 saturn ion 4 cylinder engine with 33,000 miles on it. There is a rotten egg smell coming from the exhaust. Should I be worried or concerned? And was there any kind of recall on this?

This usually indicates that the catalytic convertot is bad.
