The GM will only become profitable if we make good quality cars. They need to stay with times and build cars that will last long and will not break down after 60K or 100K. Also to get the younger crowd they need to pay attention to interior.

A part of GMs problem is the high cost of labour.
---Furthermore I dought there is a HumVee that gets 100MPG.(There are total plug in Hummer convertions that use no gas. but have less than 100mile range) In fact most hybrid systems are made by foreign manufacturers. and many of the latest batteries are made in china already.
---The US enviromental protection agency has prevented such buisness from bulding here for a while.
I looked up Hummer hybrid and came up with an aftermarket conversion to an electric drive vehical with a small gas generator to help supplimenty the plug in charger. The system can be put in any truck big enough to carry the batteries. and it is not part of GM.
---It also said the prototype was supposed to be displayed soon but the actual vehicals being sold was still years away.
