With that kind of mileage /age you probably need to go to a heavier weight oil ,
either 10-40 or 20-50, also chevk or have checked your PVC valve , it helps keep
the engine clean inside and may be clogged

I just got an oil change and filter at Walmart and now my oil pressure gague takes five minutes to come up from zero. It's a 99 Town Car with 136k miles and uses 5 w 30 motor oil

I would check or have checked with a mech. gauge. No oil pressure for 5 mins. is not good. Do the mactiti said. Hope that fix it. I had motor, oil light come on. Shut it off. Too late new motor.

I would suggest you take it back to walmart and give them a chance to make it right. I suspect you have gotten a bad filter. Thicker oil will not help this problem. If the thinner oil was the problem your oil pressure would decrease when it warms up not increase. 136,000 miles is not a lot of miles for your engine as long as it has been taken care of properly. If you don't want to go back to walmart just change the filter yourself with a good quality filter.
