Well, my guess is nothing. They can't just come and reposes a car without letting you know. I'll bet that they gave you at least one warning. At that point if you don't fix it with them then they can have the car and everything in it. Sorry. It's a common complaint.

Car Repossesed
We purchased a used car for about $5000. It has needed almost as much in work in the last 2 years. We fell behind in our $200 payments but were still trying to make $25 payments. They came and repossessed our vehicle. We have very important personal property in the vehicle and are at risk of losing jobs without the info, kids dropping letter grades because they can't turn in school papers, late fees for library materials, house key in car, camera in car and they will not call us back (about a week) to tell us where our personal items are. What is our legal action?

They are holding your personal items, or else they are still in the car. Either way, you should get them out as soon as you can. The sheriff can help you if your having trouble getting in touch with the repo agent.

Call your bank, they will tell you who towed car, where it is & you can claim your stuff., they will also tell you how to get car back & where car is going to be auctioned off at.
You do know if you owe 5000 on car & it is auctioned off for only 3000 , you are still responsible for 2000 balance.
I had to drive 11/2 hr away to reclaim my stuff, & oh, my gold bracelet was missing.

They have every legal right to the vehicle no matter how hard u TRIED to make payments. BUT your personal belonging are just that. Yours. So u can go to the repo area & retreave Your belongings at anytime. Note you cannot take items like stereos/DVD players/speakers/tires/rims. If its attached to vehicle you cant have it. If its your school work ect its yours.
