Cost of head gasket repair

I noticed the anti freeze leaking from under the engine/transmision. I checked all of the hoses and feel that the problem is a blown gasket in the engine block. What are my options? How much can I expect to pay from a repair shop? or should I just sell it an move on?

This van is not worth the fix, i can do it my self, for around 400.00 but if you get it done the labour will kill you, it may cost 1500.00 my uncle had it done a few weeks ago to his 1998, and it was 1500.00, its got 200.000 miles on it, just sell it, to some one, for what you can get, or trade it in , this is what id do, i wouldnt even take the time to fix it if it were mine , hope this helps,

Make sure to get a cooling system pressure test first and diagnose the source of the leak before condeming the cylinder head gaskets as being the problem. Chrysler does have a welch plug or freeze-out plug located behind the engine that corrodes and will leak in the area that you mentioned. The only problem is to access this plug for repair removal of the transmission bellhousing is usually neccessary. This is not an uncommon problem and we see this at our shop now and then.
If necessary a transmission shop can handle this repair easily.
