Default Judgement

I just received a summons for a lawsuit concerning a car that I owned which ws repossessed. I cannot afford an attorney and have to give a written reponse as to my actions. How does this work? I was told a default judgement would be file but now I am concerned about the legal ramifications.

A default Judgement just means that if you do not respond, the creditor will be granted the judgement and you have waived your right to appear in court. There should be instructions on how the court wants you to respond on the summons, and where and how to deliver your response. In your response you will tell the court why you do or do not agree with what the creditor is asking for. Your response can be hand written, or typed, and needs to include the case # listed on the summons, and your name, address, and phone number. You can find forms here..http://www.findforms.com/
