Check with your local GM dealer to see what they can tell you.If not try dextron automatic transmission fluid.

Does anyone know what the equivalent to Type-A transmission fluid is?
I need to refill a reservoir for a convertible top unit on my 1972 GM car and the sticker says "Use only type-A trans fluid".
I have been unable to find type-A fluid and I know there must be something compatible. Thanks for any info.
