This is a kinda complicated circuit to diagnose, are you capable of this level of repair with a DVOM, if not I would suggest taking in to the ford dealer.

You would need to check the idm circuit from the ignition module back to the pcm for opens, grounds, shorts to power,vref and pip circuits. If you like to gamble, try putting a rebuilt distributor with a ignition module.

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 212 indicates a loss of Ignition Diagnostic Monitor (IDM) input to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) . you can run a wire fron the spourt connecter and see if the connecter is bad!

Possible Causes:



Open harness circuit.
Shorted harness circuit.
Damaged Ignition Control Module (ICM) .
Damaged PCM.
