Florida auto insurance law

I live in NJ till house is sold, hubby lives in FL for job. Bought a car and FL insurance company is requiring I be listed on the policy as a driver even though I NEVER go there and I live 1200 miles away. I have my own coverage on my car here in NJ. NJ does not require you to be covered even if you live in the same house as long the other person has coverage on their own vehicle. FL auto ins. co. is threatening to cancel policy unless I provide my DL. Is this legal in FL?

Insurance laws / regulations are different in each state , it is not regulated Federaly , each Insurance Company can have Different standards for thier company policies, I suggest he try another company to get the coverage he desires.
