Good luck on fighting that one! The cop has the right to site you even though you feel he's wrong, Let me spell it out to you. Just because most of the traffic seems to be going 35 to 40 mph doesn't mean everyone should go that fast during dangerous weather conditions. It maybe ok for say 4x4 and heavy vehicle to go that fast as long as they can handle it but a lighter vehicle going the same speed might spin out as you did. Once you spin out that tells a cop that your moving too fast for the road conditions and he has the right to ticket you. After all you spinning out or losing control of you vehicle could have caused a huge accident or pile up in which you and other might have got hurt seriously. If it feels like your vehicle is loosing traction even the slightest you need to slow down to whatever might seem like a safe speed even if it's only 15 or 20 mph. You may have lost traction from tires that were going wore down? Go look at them and replace them if needed. Another thing you might want to consider is going to traffic school if they offer it? It could save you points on your driver license and getting higher insurance rates. BTW, I live in Toledo, Ohio and I didn't see you sliding on past me? LOL
