Check the spark plugs and spark to the plugs , make sure it is getting gas , several things could cause this problem , form bad plugs or burnt valves , not enough gas , weak fire from the coil , at this point you have a trial and error situation

The check ingine light is on. will a weak coil throw a code? I have replaced the plugs, its getting plenty of fuel to the front of the fuel rail. i ordered new wires but not real sure if that could be the problem or not... thanks for your help.
Check ignition components...plugs wires coil....Could also be timing belt back lash....Might need new timing set. Need to pull timing cover to inspect the belt for exsesive back lash.
