Geo will stop running

My Geo has just started doing this. I'll be running down the road and it will just guit running just like you turned it off. You have to pull off the side of the road and let it set for sometimes an hour and then it will start up and run again. After about 20 miles it does it again. Makes it hard to get to work on time.
