How can you figure out how much a cab will cost?

I thought there was a website where you could calculate the cost of a cab ride - anyone heard of that?

Not that I know of. The fare is usually up to the cab driver. The driver leases the car so it's up to them to decide how much they charge riders. Most driver's try to charge about the same, but some are cheaper and some are more expensive than others. It may be different for bigger cities, but the main one's in the Metro area (and up north) lease all their cars to the driver.

The best thing to figure on is anywhere between 15 and 30 cents a mile but most start off with a minium fare
