How do I change the oil and filter for my 2004 MBZ C240?

I dont want to take my car to the dealer for service as I can do it myself. My problem is that I have never changed the oil in this car myself. I kn ow that the filter is a canister type, and has a filter inside the canister. I dont know if I need to remove the bottom of the engine cover to access the filter and the drain plug. Please advise. Thank you

Changing the oil is easy but then you have to dispose of the used filter and oil properly. For the price of the oil which good oil is roughly two bucks a court and average car will take six when changing filter plus the price of the filter. Then depending on where you live you will be charged to get rid of the old oil, it is much easier to throw a twenty or so out and go to a quick lube and have a cup of coffee and have it done. All other areas underneath car will be check and greased and fluids added if needed.
