Connect the positive ends of the cable( red) to the positive terminals( has a + sign ) of both cars, connect the negative end of the cable( black)to the negative terminals(has - sign) of both cars.start the "jumper" car, press the gass pedal a little to get the rpm's up.give it a minute or two to charge the dead battery then try to start the car with the dead battery.make sure you turn off all accesories in the car with the dead battery before trying to start it.

You connect the red to the positive post on your battery and the black to the negative post. Make sure not to touch the two ends together . each car should be hooked up and than start running car . let it run a few seconds before attempting to start non working vehicle . after the car starts let them run together a few seconds than disconnect the cables before the jumper car leaves I like to turn off my just started car off and on again just incase it needs an additional bump.

If your looking for proper edicate the running battery Red to positive(+)post Black to negative post(-) Then connect the deed battery Red to positive(+) Black to the body of the vehicle away from the battery. This is to advert the spark of the connection from being close to the battery. Batteries can build up gases and explode in some cases.
