How do I remove the thick glue left behind after removing decal's without taking the paint with it?

Have removed the decals from a cargo trailer but there is a thick adhesive left behing. What is the easiest way to remove this glue without harming the paint to much?

Alcohol is the best fort this , but do this ,before you try it, take a small out of the way , spot and rub some on and see if its good paint or bad paint, it should take care, of it, and old bubble gum will take some off also
