How do you make a five lug rim fit on an eight lug axle?

I have a 78 f250 with eight lug axle. I'm buy some 38" super swampers but there on five lug rims. And I don't think they will fit on the stock rims? What can I do?

You may be able to find a rim adapter, however I don't think an 8 to 5 adapter is made. Check here, or google "rim adapter" http://www.adaptitusa.com/

Adapters scare me they never stay tight it seems , i had one come loose on the drag strip just befor i crossed the finsh line , done some major fliping and rolling , good thing the man i was racing was a car or so in front of me could have been worse

Contact a local Junk yard or You Pull auto salvage and see if they have the rims that will work for your appication. I also don't like the adaptors, not with that large of a tire, that is alot of rolling weight to depen on that adaptor staying tight. Good luck
