Thanks for the suggestion. I wish it was that easy. The newer trucks do not have this access point. When you lower the tailgate there are two screws holding one side of the tail lens unit but I cannot figure out where the others are if there are. The unit is still secure when you remove these two.
The other two screws are up in the finder well behind inner finder.
You have found the 2 inside the tailgate and the outside of the light has two round pionts that snap into a plastic socket in the bedside behind the light. Be careful not to break the light. Try to look into the gap to pry where it snaps together.
