The trick when purchasing tires is to know the rating as in H R Zrated being the best tire and most expensive. You would think the best tire and more expensive ones would last longer but its the opposite. The better the tire the more it hugs the road and wears away. 30000 miles on first set is about right because they put a high rated tire on. If you want your tires to last longer get the lower priced tire

You got about the normal amount of use out of your tires. Normally when you purchase tires the company will give you a tire rating which means how many miles the tire will last under normal usage. Rating normal fall in the 20,000 to 50,000 mile range so if you want tires that last longer ask the mileage rating on the tires you purchase and make sure they last as long as you want them to. Generally tires with a longer mileage rating will cost you more money so you might want to ask yourself if it's worth the higher price you'll pay for the better tires or if it will be cheaper to replace them more often with a less expensive tire?
