How to remove distributor from 87 volvo 740

You need a repair manual , check the libary for one , it dont sound like you know what your doing at all , sorry just trying to save you some trouble , dont mean to hurt your feelings

Distribuior Removal:

1.Mark and remove wires at cap.
2.Remove (3) distributor cap screws
4.Remove (2) distributor retaining bolts
5.Remove distributor

Distributor drive is offset and can be installed one way only
Oblong bolt holes in distributor can be used to set timing if required
Change oil O ring on disributor if necessary
Aim the rotor same way when removed and fit the dog end of the distributor in and make sure the distributor housing sits flush.
