Trip systems on the ground in the pavement, or laser trip systems on the pole. Ever notice those funny squares of asphalt right before the crosswalk line? Thats them. You can see the laser activated ones on the poles near the lights, many people think these are cameras, these laser trips also detect sirens and flashing lights from emergency vehicals, causing all lights at the intersection to turn red.
Ha - so true! I was talking to this Russian guy I know that owns a pizza place up in highlands in Denver and he swears that those sensors emit radioactive waves that control the mood of drivers as some sort of government psychological experiment. Talk about a conspiracy theory. Kind of of topic, but I thought you might find that interesting.
So see of your mood changes as you are waiting for a light. When I drive in greeley I know I get angry at those stoplights mma_mom is talking about!
Yes, when I'm driving impatiently, more often than not, I inch forward slowly to trigger the sensors.
