I have a 9gpm@1000 psi hydraulic pump (pto driven).

The fluid leaves the pump and runs into and out of a two lever vavle .The out fluid runs through a fan type oil cooler then through a spin on filter and into the tank.I would like to run a direct drive water pump at 3450rpm and have a 5gpm@1000 psi motor.I also have a prince adjustable flow valve.The system
currently leaves the control valve runs into one side of the hyd. motor then out the other side and back to the valve.My question is where should the flow control valve go and should the motor discharge line go back to the valve or to the oil cooler ? Would my valve be a open or closed center valve?
