Is it worth it to buy a new transmission for a 2002 Ford Focus?

Id go to a junk yard and have a used one installed. or have that one rebuilt. in this hard times . its better then having a new car payment. and spending a lot of money. on some thing that does the same as this . getting from point a. to point b. but if you dont want to do this. smaller cars are higher now. so hope this helps!

3000 is almost the price of that car the first thing i would is go to the auto parts a get one of the trans conditioners [ i prefer K&W another good one is lucas] and have it put in the trans will probably start working better in 20 to 30 min follow its instructions leave it for a couple days then take it to one of the oil change stores and have trans oil and filter changed then take it and trade it in just dont use the dealer who wanted to change the trans ===the trans is one of the most expensive items on a car and they love to change and rebuild them and a lot of the time they need the varnish and sludge buildup cleaned out ==they will never tell you this conditioner about 10.00 to put it in maybe 20.00 oil and filter change roughly 90.00 which would you rather spend plus you have nothing to loose you were willing to replace the trans anyway
