Is there a comprehensive law in Texas which covers damage surrounding a fire damage by x number of feet?

Our car exploded and burnt in our driveway. It was caused by faulty work done to our car earlier that day. Our ins. co. settled with us. They are now going against the car co. However our garage doors was 46 inches from the burnt car. We have no home owners ins. Can we add the charges for the garage doors in with our claim against the car repair co. as the damage was caused by the car fire. I was told by one attorney there is a "Comprehensive" law pretaining to this that would be in effect for the car care co to have to cover the said claim however; I have not been able to locoate one. The attorney asked said their firm does not handle this type of case however he knew of this law. Please confirm what we can leagly do. Thank you for your help in advance, Mrs. Charlotte Gullo
