Me personally, i would cut my loses as they are and invest into a different car, that hopefully is better off. Sounds like you are going to continuosly have issues, and by the sound of it costly issues.

I agree with tony, those cars are throwaway cars. for 12-1700 you could buy something more reliable.
I have the same problem and im goin to change the trans myself..the motor is fine no problems but this is the third trans that i no thats in the car..im hopeing this is the last one but if it goes again im probabkle goin to get another car..
You should never buy a new car just because one part breaks every car can be fixed. you will spend more money buying a new car
Your better off in something else , neons are trouble , yours has too many issues
Dummy says for 12-1700 you can buy another car.. LOL! well Dodge transmssions are so junk that you can replace one in an afternoon for about $200.. so do whatever you want. I can give instructions if you need them.
Get your transmission fixed. Just be sure to get a warranty just in case it breaks again. If you think the engine still has a lot of power and just your transmission is messed up then replace it. Don't buy a completely new car.
Actually I also have a Dodge Neon with a busted Transmission. I'm thinking about doing it myself I have a neighbor who does transmissions so if I run into any real problems I have backup. Is it easier to replace with a Manual TRans or should I stick with a Automatic ? My wife just paid this car off 6 months ago. I do not want another car payment !
