1990 Honda Accord isn't getting a "spark"

I have a 1990 Honda Accord Lx Automatic that wont start. Here is a little history.

I ditched it and had to replace the front motor mount and radiator. It was a spare car so I was in no hurry to fix it. It sat for about a year and I gave the car to my son - he made the repairs and I told him that all of the fluids would need to be changed since it had been sitting so long. But in his "haste" to make sure it would run, he started it up. It ran like a charm. I told him to turn it off. And do the tune up. HUGE MISTAKE. We should have ran it for a while with the fresh fuel. Now it wont start.

I thought it was the fuel injectors - but a friend of mine pulled a spark plug put a screw driver in it and it wasn't getting any spark. Is there a fuse or something that he could have blown? It turns and just goes "ehh ehh ehh ehh" - ha ha ha..that's the best I can describe it...

I'm just a mom who knows how to do minor repairs.(change brakes, alternator, battery, hoses, belts - you know the easy stuff!) Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!

Need to know, what motor size, single cam, or dual cam? If he had changed the distributor cap and/or rotor, make sure he put the spark plug wires in the proper firing order. Check for loose connection, near the distributor and the cables near the battery(+) cable. Check wire to the ignition coil from the center of cap the aformentioned coil.

It is a 4 cylinder motor - single cam (according to Honda's website)

We never touched the distributor or the spark plugs/wires. I was misleading when I said "tune-up" earlier... it was just a "fluids" change (oil, brake, power steering, transmission)

So I should be looking at the distributor/cables/ignition coil? I'll check it out.
