Clean the battery posts and check if tight. Did you try jump the sol on starter?

1997 chevy lumina will not crank
Hello, i have a 97 chevy lumina sedan 3.1 168k that wont crank new battery,checked all fuses and relays, cleaned key and ignition switch,had starter tested ok,made sure ignition switch was reading key ok,also tried bypass system still will not crank, security light comes on for 4 seconds steady then goes out like it should, i have power down to starter but nothing happens. any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks Rich

Yes i tried that and it did turn the starter but not with the key and the battery is new

Sounds like you have a ignition lock, or a security lock enabled on the system contact your local gm dealer for specifics on your concern. To me it sounds like your security system will not enable crank or your ignition switch is malfunctioning
