I have a 91 crown vic wagon that doesn't want to shift after 45 mph. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the overdrive isnt kicking in , is there a "OD" button on the shifter , does the

shifter linkage operate properly ,ie r is reverse ect?

Yeay, the gears shift manually just fine. It runs great too. I just bought it today for $300 and it's in excellent shape with the exception of the trans. I havn't checked to see if it does have an OD button. That's the only reason they sold the car.
