Honda CRV when Trans. shifts out of OD vehicle looses power RPM stays constant

When this happens if I let up on the trottle it will shift back into OD and run fine. It will do this until I turn the key off, when vehicle is restarted or electrical system is powered back up everything is fine for a few days. When it shifts down and the power is cut off the rpm stay at the value it was at in OD, full throttle will not raise rpm.

Is there a check engine light? I would look into the "Throttle Position Sensor." Try disconnecting the negative cable of the battery and turn the headlight switch on for 10 minutes. This may clear any PCM codes that could be causing the concern.

The check engine light was on (amber). I purchased a $50 code reader and reset all codes. The problem appears to have gone away. The light did come back on but the shifting isn't a problem. I need to look up the code that turned the light on and investigate that. I might post another question after I find the code number. Thanks for the answer
