I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepit with 140,000 miles on it. I have a 'hum' coming from the front driver's side.

It sound like a big 4x4 with big tires and the hum coming from those. The sound is most prominent at speeds over 35 mph. I replaced my tires with cooper touring tires and the sound contiues. The transmission will slip on the first start of the day when it is cool outside. Will take any helpful hints on diagnosing this problem. Thanks

I suspect this hum noise is going to be a front wheel bearing going bad. As for the the trans slipping this would be a seal issue in the forward or intermediate clutch .A trans will slip most when cold because the seals are shrunken and cant hold pressure.
