My eclipse has a knocking noise, how do I fix?

Theirs a knocking noise in the engine and the timing maybe the cause of it.

I'm not sure, I've checked around and people say seafoam into the intake. Maybe I should try that?

If it's more of a deep knocking noise that would be your rod bearing(s) going bad. If you had a carbon build up problem,it would only make noise under a load. More like a piston slapping noise.

Sea foam might make it worse, First thing is to determine where the knock is actually coming from, a timing belt pulley or water pump would make noise from behind the timing cover. A lifter or cam noise would be in the top end, and rod and main bearings would be in the lower end of the motor. You might want to try marvel mystery oil, or lucas oil honey, its really thick and they both help with engine noise.
