Malibu ticking sound

Okay i got a 01 chevy malibu and it has a steady ticking sound and when you accelerate its faster any idea what it could all be

It also sounds like its coming from around the lifters

Thatsn the tappets on the lifters are doing this, sounds like you need a oil addtive, do this and see if this helps, and you might need the valves adjusted!, is it using any more oil , ?

My uncle put some kind of cleaner in it but it dident help and ive been using 5w 30 and it really hasnt really been burning up any oil

Adjusting the valves shouldnt be maybe one hundred dollars , thats around here, which could be cheaper then there, i live in ky, 1st thing id do is get some 40 weight oil , and try that see if it will smooth the sound down , use 10w 40 , and see what that does , if you dont want to go that route get her to a service bay , and let them fix her,
