MB brake cut off tool, what is it?

What tool or gage is needed to replace brake pad on 2007 or later Mercedes Benz cars?

Ive never worked on one but ill guess you have to cut the brake pad to custom fit a MB and this tool is to cut the nuts and the pads

A tool is needed when renewing brake pads on some .2007/2008 Mercedes Benz cars to cut off the Electro- brake system to relieve fluid presure, so that the pistons will not be pushed out of the calibers, when the old pads are removed.

Those answers submitted do not answer my question, plus they don't make sense. I know what the tool does, i am seeking tofind out is there a subsitute that can be used or not?
