My 1990 Cadillac isn't running too well. The engine idles rough.

I just changed the spark plugs and it ran great. Then I put some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank because I thought there might be some water in the fuel. The car had been sitting for a couple of years prior to my acquiring it. After about a week, it's idling rough, and the acceleration is poor. It's like the catalytic converter may be plugged. It ran fine before I put the additive in the fuel. Do you suppose that's what plugged it? Will it clear up?

If the engine is missing or shaking one bad ignition wire is all it takes. You didn't say whether you had front or rear wheel drive. I know the front wheel drive caddys are a real beast to change spark plugs on. I have one myself. It is very easy to break a wire pulling the boot off of the spark plug. If your engine was running fine recently I doubt that you have a clogged converter problem. Not too common a problem on caddys. Check those wires real good if you do have a missing condition. were any boots real hard to remove? did you have to yank any real hard to get it off the plug? I'm not a psychic (I don't even know if I spelled it right) but I'm getting vibes that it is a spark wire problem.:)

If it hard old gas in it and you run it with that gas in and put fuel additive in it some of that old gas that turnned to shlack and slim come loose and problly did stop up your fuel flow
check your fuel filter , it could have rust in it also from setting so long
yep i say the additive broke lose some of the old gas gunk and it or the rust has some thing stopped up

Champion spark plugs are the better choice. Change them again and get a inline fuel filter
