I have a 1995 Dakota 5.2 V8 also. I had problems that sound similar to yours. Wouldn't accelerate but would putter along 20 to 30mph. Was told by mechanic there is no gas filter in my vehicle except in the gas tank as part of fuel pump assembly. Anyways, hate to tell you this but I had to have a new fuel pump installed. Cost me over $1,000.00.

Maulers326, I feel sorry for you. No way $1000. $200 for the fuel pump. Hope Novella776 can find a cheaper installer.
