My 2000 chevy malibu AC/Heater blower control only works on #5 setting. settings 1-4 don't work. What should I be replacing to fix this problem?

My 2000 chevy malibu AC/Heater blower control only works on #5 setting. settings 1-4 don't work. What should I be replacing to fix this problem?

I would check into ypur heater blower motor resistor, it is located pasenger side of car right next to blower motor, should have about 5 wires coming out of it. unplug it and check for the plug being burnt, if ok just replace the blower resistor these vehicles were natorious for this problem. if the plug is burnt replace it with a new pigtail assembly and do the resistor as well. the resistor can be a little bit of a bug a boo to get out and install, some are easier than others. good luck.
