Have battery checked sounds like your battery voltage is down low or dead. If your battery is (3) years or older it may be time for a new one. Check your battery cable connections also. make sure they are clean and tight. If the car will take a jump easily then the battery is suspect. Also have your alternator voltage output checked.. Output should be 14.2 volts. The machine gun rapid clicking sound is the starter solenoid clicking in and out. There is not enough voltage to keep the starter solenoid engaged hence the rapid clicking sound..
Its the battery or starter solenoid or a bad battery connection
Also check for terrorist with a machine gun under your hood them buggars are everywhere these days
