My folks have a GMAC car loan which is now 90 days overdue,how do I start a title or deed in leiu?
My parents were recently hit twice by damaging storms which forced them to move out of their home until work was completed to make it up to code again. Fema told them to talk to GMAC about delaying their payments. The collections reps at GMAC intimidated and threatened them when they tried to communicate with the loan company about what they were going through. I got involved and the rep Jaqueline told me that they would put two extentions in if I got a payment in by the end of October. I did what she asked and placed their payments on autopay through my folks bank. Now I've been told my father has been receiving threatening phone calls due to GMAC not placing the two extentions as they said they would. Both of my folks are disabled seniors and at this point since GMAC has lied to me and not done as they stated they would I'm trying to find out how to transfer the vehicle back to them but have them sign a release as they're probably going to charge the vehicle off and still try to collect anyway. I'm also looking into possibly doing a short sale on my folks 2003 saturn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm still dealing with my home being flooded due to Hurricane Ike while dealing with my folks and my brother's issues. Thanks in advance for any help.
