Well the check engine light is a crazy light that is more annoying than really improtant. You can do the diagnostic yourself by borrowing auto zones obd2 tool. All you do is plug it into your car..there is a plug somewhere under your stearing column and read the instructions. Do you need to get your car smogged? If you do not know how to test with the OBD2 sensor yoiu probly wont know how to change a sensor. 90% of the time it is o2 or c02 sensor. A lot of people are spending hundreds of dollars do to check engine light problem. What you can try is by using a gas treatment and supreme unleaded fuel with you next fill up and make sure you drive it on the freeway for at least 30 mins. This fix is only a temprory fix.

I also have a 95 Beretta. No quick fix to stop it. The O2 sensor is probablly going out.
