No power to acheater control 87 brougham

I have no power to the ac heater unit in 87 caddy. The elec. line to the blower under the hood is still hot and works. It is unplugged right now. There is a compartment that that series of wires plug into and I was wondering if that unit has a short in it.It sits on top of the blower unit..
