What is the statue of limitaions for filing a property claim? Would telling the tortfeasor about the claim be considered notice? If so then the statue defense woulnot be applicable?

The statue of limitaions for filing a property claim, can be up to 2 years , most are one year, iam not sure in this case. but your state court div, should have this info for you. how long was it since the son had insurance? and did the pass, have his own car insurance?
