There are some instances in which your insurance could be sued because he lives in your house. I don't know why that is, but it has happened to several people I know, and each of them had their insurance agree to pay out. Not only would I check your states law, but speak to your insurance agent, and let him know what the circumstances are. Sometimes you can protect yourself by having a waiver on your own policy where he cannot drive your vehicles. By doing so, it may protect you as far as claims being filed on your insurance should he wreck his own vehicle. I would tell him he needs to find a job to pay for his insurance, even if it is the minimum required liability. Also, just out of curiosity, how does he pay for gas? If you are paying, then make him earn that money as well. If he doesn't have gas, it would be harder for him to wreck a car he can't drive. Good luck!
