A travel trailer is an Rv, the number on the tongue should be the vin number. However you will need to apply for a completely new title as you have none. You will have to show proof from the person that gave you the trailer that they have lost the title, or better yet they should apply for a new title, you can always pay for it as you did get the trailer for free. Either way you can get this trailer titled, even if it takes a while.
Thank you for the help the only prob. is that every time I try to look up the vin. they require a 16 digit no. and the no. on the tounge is only 9 digits. I also looked on the frame under the trailer near the rear and found nothing. The only 16 sigit vin. I could find is for the propane heater.
