Thats odd for some reason there is no procedure shown for removing the alternator on my All Data all they show is a drawn illustration of the alternator and the bolts that have to be removed.

I am remembering a while ago on a Hyundai 4 cyl. not sure of the model the alternator was located looking at the rear of engine passenger side corner and we removed something on the firewall maybe a tank or resevoir above it not sure and squeezed the alternator out through the top rather than the bottom. It was a very close fit but we got it out. If near a wheel opening sometimes a slight trim of the body opening helps and we have also have had to remove axles and drop exhaust systems on some cars to get the units out.
